Medical Administrative Professional
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Medical Administration Professional will assist in supporting the day-to-day front office operations by performing administrative tasks and ensuring high quality customer service for our patients in accordance with practice policies.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under the direct supervision of the Practice Operations Manager and within established policies and procedures, the incumbent performs the following essential functions:
- Responsible for greeting patients at the front desk and coordinating check in and check out.
- Check in patients by ensuring medical records are in EMR, demographics and eligibility verified/updated, forms completed, collect co-pays.
- Check out patients by scheduling return appointments and providing referral information, if needed reconciles patient balances.
- Schedules appointments with appropriate physicians.
- Reconciles co-payments, daily deposits, and charge tickets nightly.
- Able to multitask and prioritize.
- Always maintains patient confidentiality, in accordance with HIPAA.
- Submit billing sheet to third party billing.
- Prepare preparation kits to distribute to patients.
- Obtain pathology reports and upload into EMR for provider review.
- Effectively interact with clinical staff and patients.
- Communicate and schedule appointments with pharmaceutical representatives.
- Keep the administrative area clean and orderly.
- Adheres to all policies and procedures.
- Performs all similar or related duties as assigned or requested.

Job Type: Full-Time 8am – 5pm
Pay Range: $16.00-$18 per hour
Education:
• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• 1-2 years related work experience in physician practice setting preferred
• Strong focus on patient satisfaction and quality care
• Proficiency in using an Athena software EMR, a plus
