COVID-19

“GSG is currently seeing patients via telemedicine, in the office, and performing procedures. Telemedicine allows us to see, evaluate, and treat most patients with gastrointestinal conditions while maintaining social distance as has been recommended by public health authorities such as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). By doing this we hope to protect our patients and staff from potential COVID-19 exposure or infection.

GSG continues to see select patients in our office. A determination on whether a patient will be seen in the office will be made after that patient’s telemedicine visit is complete. Factors that will be considered include the complexity and severity of a patient’s problem weighed against their risk of serious illness should he or she become infected with COVID-19.

GSG has resumed outpatient endoscopy including diagnostic and preventative colonoscopy and upper endoscopy. Patients may be required to undergo testing for COVID-19 prior to the procedure, according to endoscopy facility recommendations.

GSG remains available to our community for new patient visits/consultations as well as follow-up of patients who have previously been seen by one of our physicians or advanced practice providers.
